reclaiming charges from cap one

sent them my letters, got an offer for £330 BUT the letter says they will knock it off my bill with cabot (debt collectors) .the thing is there is no bill with cabot ,the balance was payed in full almost 2 years ago.

I wrote to cap one saying yes ill have the money but the balance was cleared.they are saying that their system says there is money owing .I even went on experian which states that the debt is satisfied ,printed it off and sent that to cap one to prove once and for all that ive payed and they owe ME the money.-still no joy.

ive phoned cap one who say write in ,again! -gets me nowhere
ive phoned cabot and they say yes i have cleared the balance and cap one is dragging its heels.

what should i do now? seek legal advice or what?

cheers

Have you got correspondence from CABOT saying it is cleared? If yes then photocopy the letter and send it to Capital One and tell them they can sort it out with Cabot but they have to pay you the cash.
