Swivel seats in the car

Today I saw some swivel seats to help people get in and out of the car more easily - only £8.99 in Home Bargains. This seems quite inexpensive, although I must confess that I have no idea how much they normally cost.
I thought it might be of some use to somebody

Hi,
I saw these in HB too. They did look good, but was wondering if anyone used/uses them and can let me know your thoughts as I'm considering one for my son.
Thanks

I just use a plastic carrier bag - as suggested by my OT, it works fine and costs nothing - try it before you spend any money on a swivel seat.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Low carb, low oxalate Primal + dairy
From size 24 to 16 and now stuck...0 -
Do you have a link? I tried a carrier bag but be warned I nearly slipped right off drivers seat into the kerb so it can be dangerous if you're not strong or dexterous.0

PMSL at that description as I'm certainly not either! The sight of me attempting to get into my father in law's LandRover has been known to reduce people to tears (of laughter). Maybe there's a knack to it?Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Also, if you're considering one of these swivel seats you need to be aware that they will significantly reduce your headroom in the car. Not just the depth of the swivel seat itself but also because they make you sink into the car seat less.
In order to not risk your neck and head in the event of an accident or severely bumpy road it is advised that you check your seating position. You should be able to fit your fist between your head and the interior roof panel of your car for it to be safe.
If you don't have at least another 3 inches more than that then a swivel seat is not recommended. I'm too tall to even consider one of these things, and also can't find a way to get into my car in a simple 'sit, rotate, settle' way- no matter what I do my legs are too long to fit under the steering column in that motion. Either I sit far enough away from the steering column for my legs to swivel properly, but in that position the door pillar gets in the way of me sitting down, or I sit down avoiding the door pillar and the steering column gets in the way.
Some days I don't appreciate my height one bit!'Ive got a photograph, I'll send it off today.
You will see I am perfectly sane.'0 -
Sorry, TaBunny, no link. Home Bargains tend to have items in some stores but not in all of them. It's just a case of looking in your local branch.
I've tried to post the link for Home Bargains, even though there isn't a link for any products, but as a newbie I can't post links, so I'm afraid you'll have to google. Sorry0
