Lloyds TSB!!! S/O early-declined!!! want to leave!!

Hello All,

Right...Todays happenings!! (im sooo mad!)

I have been with LTSB for about 13 years..all my wages have always been paid into the accounts! I have 5 now for various things..

ACC 1 - saving towards Holiday/Xmas/NY & a friends wedding -£1450
ACC 2 - Bill account - as some bills have been reduced there is £1168 in there after some bills so just growing per month.
ACC 3 - Spends -My monthy wages go in, SO come out for other accounts for bills, whats left is mine to spend..
ACC 4 - Just a bank account with £2082 in that ive transfered as rainy day fund - no intrest is paid.
ACC 5 - Bills - Some of the house i live in's bills come out about £ 160 IN.

ACC 3 - (spends) had about £557 in on the 7th, i checked as going shopping today for some clothes for a wedding..LTSB decided to take the S/O i have to ACC 1 1 week early, its always around the 15th as thats when i get paid..that left £167 -

I went to pay for dinner @£19.95 - card declined! the £167 apparently has already been 'ear marked' for debit card transactions leaving my account @ 00.00!!!!

To make matters worse i had only just had £219 & £85 paid into my account for shopping, now if i hadnt of & they had of took the £390 early io would of been Overdrawn!!

Ive spent ages to the declined card number for them not to be able to answer any questions until Monday! I want to know why they took my S/O early! I had a misrible shopping trip & am in such foul mood on my days off!

I want to change banks now as i obviousaly dont get anything from the LTSB!!!

Can anyone reccomend where to look 1st??

Thanks

Ness.

Most banks stipulate that you need to have the funds in the account the day before your standing order or direct debit is due.

In addition, Saturday and Sunday are not banking days - they count as Monday.

The chief complaint is about money being taken out of an account one WEEK early, not a couple of days.

Hmm, my bad, I missed that.

That said, a Standing Order one week early? Seems bizarre. Sure it's not a direct debit?

To me this overly complicates things - why not combine accounts 3 and 4 to make sure you always have enough of a float?

Lloyds tsb seem to be a law unto themselves lately they do what they want when they want with your money and its your tough luck as far as their customer service lines go. We spent 3hrs in a branch once when there own branch assistant tried to sort the sorry mess out as we had just about given up she could not believe the incompetance of their own staff at the other end of the phone.

If you go to the home page of this site Martin has something on there about the best bank account to go for at the moment :-)

PS sorry about my rant !

How do you mean, 'around the 15th'?

If it's a SO, the bank don't 'take it', you set the amount and the date on which you wish to pay it, the bank don't decide; what date exactly have you got it set for?

You can check standing orders and direct debits with their online banking.
Standing orders can be amended or cancelled and you can view D/D's and see when last payment was claimed.
If the standing order had been paid early it would already show on account 1 - is this the case?
Could it be that the standing order has been set up for ''every 4 weeks'' rather than say ''15th monthly''?
