Flight booking advice for US

I'm currently looking at a US holiday for this Sept and have found answers to most of my questions by searching on this helpful forum. The one I'm still struggling with is the cheapest way to buy a flight which isn't a straightforward return.

I want to fly from London to San Francisco but return from Las Vegas (or fly to LV & return from SF). Single fares seem almost as expensive as returns, so I hope I'm missing something obvious here. Help please!

single fares are as expensive as return sometimes more so!
You can fly this way by booking with the airline direct

That's classed as an 'Open Jaw' ticket and is a return flight nevertheless (so long as you return to your departure point).

Look at American Airlines web site and price up a Multi-stop ticket. (look at the More options Tab).

Contact Trailfinders and see what they can do.

You may find it's cheaper to fly to LAS first, then reurn from SFO.

Should be easily doable.
