I have had regular pop ups from registry defender and other advertisements. I think a week ago i may nhave accidentally excepted something which has allowed this -big mistake. My computer is slower, they are inconvenient and now my AVG is catching trojan viruses -doesnt sound good. I am a complete technophobe -as you can maybe tell. I cant find any relevent programmes to delete and i have googled how to get rid of registry defender but the website solutions seems questionable with comments suggesting they to may be virusus. Please help, and in detail if you would be so kind. I am clueless about how to fix this and fix it i must...
Thanks guys

For starters, check if you can remove Registry Defender using Add/Remove programs.
Then download Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware, install it, update it, scan, and remove whatever it finds.
Once you get it all sorted, you might consider removing AVG and replacing it with Avira AntiVir.0 -
...Also, when i do avg scans it says tracker cookies found in temp int files -but when i clear my history they adverts still appear.0

Run Malwarebytes first - that should clear the infection that you have from the rogue programs0

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer when you visit a website, and are used for various functions. This site uses them for instance, to remember your details so you don't have to log in every time you visit.
Deleting them won't stop ads appearing.0 -

Also, download, install & run CCleaner - it will get rid of a load of rubbish files so you have less to scan - also clears your temp internet folder.0
