searches on my credit report

I have just finally ordered and recieved my credit report and on there, there is three searches for an insurance quotation from direct line.
Now last year (well exactly a year ago) i did a quote for pet insurance and took it out but that was a year ago.
two of them say RBS PLC IRO DIRECT LINE PLC
and the other RBS PLC IRO OF PRIVILEGE one was done on 02/12/2008 and the other two 26/3/2009 & 30/3/2009 does anyone know what these could be and does anyone know what an unrecorded enquiry is from a camelot group is?

have you had any quotes done or bought car insurance/home insurance/pet insurance/travel insurance around those dates opting to pay premium monthly and not in one lump sum, as thats how mine have appeared previously

ref camelot group, i am sure they are the ones who run the national lottery? have you had a decent sized win or anything from them as they may do an id check for larger winners?? or have you took out a regular dd payment with them for tickets

Camelot group is the national lottery!! do you play the lotto online? They searched me when I signed up to pay by direct debit (stupid tax, as my friends call it)

oh me gosh as if its the lottery.
i signed up ages ago but when it told me the minimum i had to pay off my card was £5.00 i thought sod that.
so can i get that removed or not, why would they need to do a check for it?

I don't think that i have had any quotes on those dates but even so why would any company that gives you a quote leave a footprint on your credit file?

it's only an ID check so it doesn't affect your credit score

RBS PLC IRO DIRECT LINE PLC is for car insurance quotations/renewals. It shows on my Experian file every year when it comes up for renewal.

I have just checked mine for a mortgage and have 3 from RBS and elephant etc. I know i haven't put my details into any search for insurance etc. So why would they search my records. Personally i do think it is a bit dodgy - as it has happened to so many people.
