laptop keyboard and touchpad not working under windows

Odd problem, but after booting a friends laptop off System Rescue CD to do a bit of partition management, the touchpad and keyboard no longer work under windows(XP pro). They work fine if I boot back into System Rescue CD. A USB mouse works if I have it plugged in from when I boot, but the one USB keyboard (which works in other computers) that I've tried doesn't even power up. It's an Acer TravelMate 4670.
Seems odd to me, any ideas?

Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.

Are you sure you're using the right CD? If not, it won't have installed the drivers required to operate the keyboard and touchpad.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Sys Resc CD works fine, it's windows that doesn't recognise them afterwards. Also, all works if I boot in safe mode. I've checked the drivers, and nothing out of the ordinary is there.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

I take it you've ran Windows Update (using the custom option), and installed everything?0
