Hi,
I am with Halifax cuently on SVR. Currently the mortgage is on my name and my wife but i would like to have my father (aged 72) name as well. How do i go about doing this. since he lives with me he might as well have his name on the motgage papes as well.
Beside i can get allowances on insulation and new boiler as well.

Why do you want to do this? Just because he lives with you? If he wants security then give him a tenancy agreement or something.Kavanne

Agreed. I can't see any point on you putting him on it at all, unless he is contributing to the costs of the mortgage and wants some form of securityI am a Mortgage adviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. This is probably why the OP wants Dad on the mortgage papers.
If dad ever has to go into care, his part ownership of your house will be taken into account.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
