Cancel an order made with a credit card

hope someone can help. I ordered a laptop off Dell and paid with a credoit card. Can I cancel this order - is there someone legal right to cancel purchases made with a credit card?

You have a right to cancel within a sertain period. This has nothing to do with a CC payment. Only if you rightfully cancel the order, but retailer refuses to return your money you can dispute the transaction with your CC company. See Martin's Consumer rights guide.

Thanks for the link - apparently under distance selling regulations I have seben days to cancel the order form when I receive the goods so since I won't receive tham for at least another 5 to 10 days I have plenty of time>

I would contact Dell ASAP and inform them that your are cancelling as they make every computer to order and they may well request that a percentage of the total price be owed to them as they have made your computer.
Get in early and double check that it is cancelled and you do/or don't owe them anything.
