HSBC Hardship Claim- Offer

Hi,
I originally made a claim a year ago for £1,600 in charges. More recently, when it was clear my temp job was coming to an end as there was no other work for me, I made a hardship claim to HSBC. They sent me a monthly expenses form, the contents of which I passed on to them.. After several weeks of wrangling, HSBC have made me an offer of £530 this month, which would be reviewed each month.
Am I being too cynical in thinking they are hoping that by next month, I will have a job, or that they will refuse to give me another £530.in June? I am thinking of contacting them and saying that I would consider a lump sum of £1,000 but that £530 per month is insufficient to cover my cost of living.
Does anybody else have experience of this situation? Any advice would be most appreciated.

I would accept the £530.00 which should be to cover priority debt arrears and you can still go back to them next month. If you argue the toss, then they can delay and dalay for a further month. Do you claim JSA and either Housing benefit/local housing allowance?0 -
I claim JSA. I see what you mean but by the way HSBC have behaved throughout this process, I can't help but think that this is just another tactic to get out of paying my full claim.
Anyway, I'll think about it, as I've still got a few days left to respond.0 -

Perception is a big thing in any business. A bank is not a human being is not governed by logic but by a computer system. The more you humanise it the worse it will be. They will get their comeuppance, don't worry about that but remember this is not about everyone else getting the boot into them but about YOU getting money out of them.
The will pay out in full but they are not required to do so under hardship or under the FSA Waiver on bank charges.0
