Selling South African Shares

Hello everyone....
I hope someone here can advise me...
I have some old (bought in 1989) shares - originally they were the South African Steel company - Iscor - now Mittal Steel.

I wrote to them a while ago to ask about selling these shares - this is the reply I received...
ISCOR LTD

"We refer to your letter received. Iscor Ltd had an odd lot offer in November 1999, where the shareholders with less than 1000 shares could retain their shares, sell their shares or buy more shares to increase to 1000 shares, if none of these options were taken the shareholder received a cash offer of R2.10 per share.

At the time of the offer you were the registered holder of 559 shares.
In order to release the cheque we require the original share certificates together with an original certified copy of the shareholders identity document, and marriage certificate certified by a notary of public and your address stated clearly where the cheque should be posted, please also request that all unclaimed dividends be paid. Kindly note that the share certificates covering the 59 shares were returned to our
Offices as unclaimed and will be issued on receipt of the above."

My question is ...can I sell these privately? and if so, how would I go about it?
Looking at the Stock Market - Mittal Steel shares are currently at 28.75 euros.

The SA rand price they are offering would give me about £120!

Any suggestions and help gratefully received!
Rustie
