    Donate it directly to the charity, telling them you think it should be worth a fair bit, and let them sell it however they see fit? Would save you the trouble.

    Speaking as an ex charity manager, I can tell you that unless it's a very high value item, if a charity is given an item that is not what they usually deal with, they will quite often either bin it, or someone in the charity will 'aquire' it for themselves. It unfortunately takes too much time/resources to sell a one off item for it to be worth their whiles.

    Unfortunately I tend to agree with olias. We have had one of these (sounds similar)at our charity shop and they were going to acquire it for £2 I took it to our local auction house and it made £80 they also did not charge us any commission. So I would try a local fine arts acution and then donate to the charity of your choice.
