what can I use the dryer water for?

You can use it to fill your iron, you could add a couple of drops of essential oil to make it just like that fancy (expensive) ironing water.
Or you could put it in a spray bottle with a few drops of essential oil and a teaspoon of vodka and you've got a natural air freshener. You don't have to add the vodka it just helps the water and oil mix, if you don't use the vodka just give the bottle a shake before you spray.Dum Spiro Spero1 -
I use it when I have to top up the car battery.
I never have any distilled water to hand, so I use this.
Otherwise, as the dryer is in the downstairs loo, I use it to flush:o1 -

Sorry to be negative but I've just bought a new steam iron with a separate water tank and I noticed that the instructions said to use softened water but NOT from a condenser. Not sure why but it could be because there are some residues from soap powder or fabric softener (if you use it - I don't). The water softener unit they said to use cost a fortune and I could see it was no different to a jug type filter so that is what I use for the iron.
I empty the tumbler water into a bucket I keep by the washing machine as we don't have a sink in the utility room at the moment. Then I use it for washing wollens as it is beautifully softIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!1 -
I use reverse osmosis water for my steam iron (it's one of those tank ones) BUT back in the days when I used to use the condenser tumble dryer I used to use that water as well.
My iron hasn't gunged up yet (famous last words) and it's had a good three years' worth of tumble-drier water.1 -
I've heard that some people use the condenser water for washing up.weaving through the chaos...1

We've just brought a new Bosch iron yesterday and while doing the research on the internet as to what model to buy, I found the recommendations about using the water from the tumble dryer in the iron. We live in a very hard water area.
But now we've received the new iron, it says in the instructions do NOT use tumble dryer water, yet to mix tap & distilled water at a ratio of 1:2 in hard water areas.
I was very confused as to why, as I was assuming the tumble dryer water must be better than our tap water for this purpose....and it was being recommended by so many on the internet.
Our collected tumble dryer water looked clean, but on closer inspection it is cloudy and does have small particles floating in it. And it does have a smell of detergent or conditioner. So I guess all this fluff floating in the water will contaminate the iron over time.
I also found this statement from a Tefal iron instructions on another forum..
"Types of water not to use - Heat concentrates the elements contained in water during evaporation. The types of water listed below contain organic waste or mineral elements that can cause spitting, brown staining, or premature wear of the appliance: water from clothes dryers, scented or softened water, water from refrigerators, batteries or air conditioners, pure distilled or demineralised water or rain water should not be used in your Tefal iron. Also do not use boiled, filtered or bottled water."
So I guess manufacturers like Tefal & Bosch know better than us. I wont be using a distilled water mix as that is too awkward and expensive. We'll just have to remember to use the self clean function more often. The Bosch manual states every 3 to 4 weeks.1 -

I would imagine that moisture laden air in the drum, as it spins, collects fluff thrown off from the clothes too. With there being no reason to fully filter the air before it condenses, the water is probably soft but contaminated with all manner of clothes fibres and residue.I have no signature.1 -
Great for washing the windows. The hot/warm distilled water keeps tge windows streak free.1
