Family and Friends railcard? Some help
Right I am hopefully travelling to London from Leeds on Sunday 24th May if the mighty Leeds United can get past Millwall and get to the Play off final at Wembley on the 24th.
There are potentially 9 of us travelling down but I am looking at buying train tickets for 3 of us. I have checked prices and cheapest is around 70 quid per adult. I have applied for the Family and Friends family railcard - free trial one in this weeks email - anyone know how long it will take to arrive?
Anyway the thing I wanted to know is could I buy tickets for 3 adults and 1 child using this even if a child is not actually travelling with us? As cost between the 3 of us would be about 45 quid each that would cover the cost of 3 adult tickets and 1 child whilst using the family and friends card.
Just checking there wouldn't be a problem if a child is not physically traveling with us? As this saves me a lot of money.
If anyone could help find a cheaper fare leaving on the first train from Leeds on 24th and coming back from London at about 6pm i would appreciate it but won't be booking till 10pm thursday evening - after play off semi final second leg is complete - just in case we get beat

Went to London a few weeks back and the guy across the aisle had a similar issue - he had bought three tickets and got a group discount, but the third person wasnt there. Ticket man made them pay extra for there only being two of them.
You might get away with it if you say child is in toilet etc!0 -
You MUST have a child with you when using the Family Railcard. Just because you have purchased a child ticket is not good enough.Ex-Employee of a Train Operating Company.
