Spent nothing today & all week except for wed & thurs, had to get yogurts for packed lunch wed & yesterday had a bad day & bought fish & chips & chocolate - but the food comes out of the food fund (2 ppl in house & we each put £20 in a week & rarely use that in one shop), so technically a spend free week...oh except for car repairs after the service showed up the brakes needed doing...£175 just for the brakes! But had a tax rebate same day for £169 so not soo bad.
ok I lied not a completly spend free week & next week have eye test & I know I need new glasses....only good thing about this is I am in a fund where I can claim a percentage back off things like this.0 -
Hi all,
I have had my third no spend day on the trot! Don't quite know how I managed it really. Went to the gym straight after work each day so that kept me away from the shops.
Also thanks to Ceri, read in an earlier thread that she had rung sky about reducing bill, so thought I'd give it a go. It was a bit nerve racking but I asked to be put through to cancellations & they so desperately want to keep your business, that they offered me half price sky for 3 months!
Well, I'm chuffed to bits. So not only another spend free day but also a great save day. I've learnt so much by reading this site & feel empowered to get back a little from these big companies.
Thanks again to all of you for your invaluable help, advice & funnies!

I'm so glad someone got some help from something I did. When I called them I was adament I was gonna cancel & said the only reason I was cancelling was down to the fact I needed to save money, they made sure I had the few channels I wanted & offered me £7.50 for 6 months - can you really refuse that? I know cancelling in full would save more but it's still a £81 saving over 6 months.0 -
not good for me i'm afraid! spent 5 hours sorting out the BF's mums spending and showing her snowball calculator! then needed wine and not to cook so spent £40 on meal out with BF - not bad though as this is our first in 4 weeks and we used to go out for dinner at least 2 times a week! plus £39 in petrol, but i guess not too bad either as it was the first time we've had to fill up in 2 weeks!
never mind, back to work tomorrow so no chance to spend! :rotfl:0
