Consumer right on > 12 months old TV

My 2 year old Panasonic Plasma TV has developed a "fault" where by we get a terrible buzzing noise from the back of the TV - this is more apperent when the TV is displaying white content. It gets very annoying after a while.

I am pretty sure the TV only comes with a 12 months standard warranty, but do I have any right under Sale of Goods Act? After all a TV should last longer than 2 years?

It's a long thread with more one part but there are quite a lot of posts about people experiencing "buzzing" - though from memory, I don't think a white screen was ever mentioned. It seemed to be pinned down to certain screws at the back of the frame and some people were able to resolve it by adjusting the screws. You don't say which model you have but it's probably worth checking even it it isn't the PX80.

As for Sale of Goods Act, I think there is something about being able to claim up to 6 years. Someone else will need to give you detailed advice.

Mine is the PX70, however I am sure they are not that different. I will try to adjust the screws to see if that helps.

Do read the link first - it will be worth the time spent. Also do a search for PX70 as there is maybe a specific forum for owners of that model.
