I've been getting SDA since 1997, and I'm still getting it now. I've just opted to continue taking SDA instead of my pension as it's more money than I would have got from my pension.

SDA (or severe disablement allowance) still exists but only for those who claimed prior to April 2001. In fact I receive it, and a few years back before I married I received it with an income support top-up so it's definately possible and typos (and forgetting names) happens to all of us from time to time.

to be honest there are so many different older benefits that people receive that no longer exist according to the computers it's getting silly. I've ended up arguing with benefits agency workers and tax credit people over the fact that not only do I receive SDA but it's not taxable several times.

The poster was talking about Severe Disablement Allowance ; you are talking about Severe Disability Premium.
