Help, i think the post office has let me down!

I sent 4 parcels via recorded delivery on Tues and 1 special delivery, i know the special delivery arrived ok because the buyer contacted me to say thank you. I assumed the recorded parcels would have arrived as i had heard nothing otherwise HOWEVER a buyer just contacted me to say they hadn't received their parcel. I typed in the tracking number and it says 'We have your item' and then gives the address of the post office where i sent it and the date but thats it. What does this mean? Are my parcels still there? I am feeling furious as i sent them on Tues and it's not a post office i normally use i just stopped there on my way home from work and now i'm worrying none of them have left.
What do i do?
Please help.

They won't tell you any different than the online system but phone them and throw a hissy fit, I'm sure it will pay dividends.Terms & Conditions Apply0 -

Sorry, i'm just feeling a bit stressed
How long should i wait before i try and intervene? I checked 2 of them and both say the post office address so i'm assuming they are still there the others have been delivered. I just want to know what to tell the buyers.0 -

They will have either have been delivered or are on there way to and it's simply the online system hasn't been updated.Terms & Conditions Apply0 -

Thank You,
Sorry for my royal arsiness again0 -
Just to clarify, as soon as post office 'accept ' the recorded item and assuming they have the new system in place it shows as received by them. Only when it has been delivered and signed for does the service notice update. Standard mail isn't even considered lost until after 15 working days so you have a long while yet before you need to panic.
However, many people, me included have had real issues with recorded as despite items being delivered the online status never updates. Everything thing I sent recorded in october 2008 was delivered but never showed as such online, currently my success rate for getting an online update is around 60%.
It is always best to leave well alone though where ebay is concerned, if the buyer doesn't get their item they will soon let you know. Otherwise just assume it has arrived and forget about it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
