For some reason its telling me Norton Anti virus?? and Avira are running together and they need to be turned off. I removed Norton a few years ago because it was slowing my computer down.
    What's the score.

there's probably still bits of norton floating around on your system. use the norton removal tool to get rid of it completely.

when before starting combofix, right click the avira icon and click antivir guard enable (so it doesnt have a tick next to it). after combofix has run, dont forget to turn avira back on by clicking on antivir guard enable so that it has a tick next to it

no my pal AVG it seems has left me a few prezzies
I ditched AVG a year or more ago after somebody mentioned a phone website had been hacked and was tooled up with some nasty or other. I took a look at the site (probably stupid) and AVG didn't give any warning at all. I use Avast now as Avira gives a false positive on something I've been using for years and need.

Aviras better than Avast 5stey. I think the reason its not been working as well is because of all the OLD anti virus programs you still have lurking

Avira, Avast and AVG are all free.
    Avira : http://www.free-av.com/en/trialpay_download/1/avira_antivir_personal__free_antivirus.html
    Avast: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
    AVG:

AVG would be my third choice, Avira is best of the 3 IMO. Be sure to download the FREE versions not the premium/paid for ones.

AVG removal tool is doing like a 2 second run through and then switching off. Is it supposed to do that?? I thought it would shut down and restart but it hasn't done that. Have I done it wrong? And will Avira protect me now or do I have to do something else. I will be using malware on a regular basis now and hi jack mmmm maybe combofix too... am i right??
Thankyou to all who responded my laptop seems to be recovering and functioning correctly again... I think it's gonna make it .xxxxxx
