Lower rate from marbles

I just had an interesting conversation with Marbles. I had just cleared my balance and asked them how much their transfer rate was. They said 9.9 %. I said that I had a better offer and I wanted to close my account down. They asked me how much mine was. I said 5.9% and they matched it. Now I can transfer my balance over from Virgin and close it down.

I did the same thing a few months back. They had sent me some cheques at 13.9% for 6 months. I thought they could do better than that so I cleared my balance then phoned them up enquiring about a balance transfer. They quoted me 9.9% for 6 months with a 2% fee. I wasn't having that so they then went down to 7.9% for 6 months with a 2% fee.
After not agreeing to that they finally offered me 5.9% for 6 months with a 2% fee. They sent me new credit card cheques at that rate and I paid my overdraft off with some of it.
Has anyone managed to get a lower rate than 5.9% as an existing customer?0
