I went out for just under 3 months a few years back, and despite the fact I was a good few days shy of the 90 day limit, I still got a "talking to" from the customs guy, insisting that I should never make it too close to the limit, otherwise if my flight's delayed, or something else goes wrong and I end up staying over the 90 day limit, then I'm screwed - no excuses! Nice friendly chap, eh? lol0 -

Why were you spoken to when the USA doesn't have any exit controls?
Are you sure it wasn't the clueless TSA idiots that spoke to you? From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

It was one of the customs guys...basically if you overstay it'll go on your record and you'll be refused future entry to the USA...they're not big on people overstaying their welcome0 -

Only now is that the case. Previously, under the I94-W or whatever it was called, it was quite common and normal for people to forget to hand it in when leaving.
Still - what were Customs doing talking to you when the USA doesn't implement exit immigration controls, let alone exit customs controls?
Are you positive it wasn't simply the TSA showing their ignorance and stupidity again? From Poland...with love.

Customs have no right to tell you that.. Immigration can do on the way in, as they may ask to see your return flight portion, but customs? all they're bothered about, is what you could be smuggling in that is against the law..
remember people.. no irn bru into the USA!!!
I love the fact that maybe people think anyone on a border, is "customs" and forget about immigration and tsa (or security etc)...
