aldi warranty

Any advice on what to do or what can i do?

3 weeks ago when the weather was nice , i took out the garden furniture and parasol from the garden shed,
when i was putting the parasol away 'never leave it out, always put away in the shed' it would not come apart, brass fitting would not turn 'not sure if wire cable has jammed inside and wont undo' .
This is one of the big 2.5 meter parasol about 7 foot high.
I bought it last year used it about 4 times as weather was terrible, this is the first time taken out this year. has a 3 year warranty
i phoned Aldi's and they gave me the number of company,
i told them what’s wrong and they said they will fax aldi for a refund ' i even asked if they could exchange ?'
i phoned up again today and they say that aldi have not replied yet 'after 3 weeks' and sometimes will refuse a refund if they think the fault is not covered. So they have faxed them again.
Just seems a long to wait to get a fault sorted?

Are you able to contact Aldi's head office to find out their procedure? It's probably on someone's to-do list.

Is this not a case of the retailer passing the buck to the manufacturer when your rights are against the retailer? I would contact Consumer Advice as you shouldn't need to be chasing up manufacturer and retailer.

    Thanks for that
i rang up the manufacturer first, and she said Aldi refused to give me a refund, or exchange. as i cant prove its a fault or i have misused it.
    so i contacted Consumerdirect
    http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/about/how-we-help/
    is who you meant?

    never used them before,
anyway they are sending me a form, which i need to fill out and then send to them by recorded delivery and something about given them a date to reply by.

    so see what happens.
