Give them the info - they're trying to sort it and the first thing they need to do is verify your device (meter) details and information.
Be as thorough as possible with the information you supply - it's for your own benefit. I would provide Meter serial numbers, Installation dates (if available - will be a sticker on the meter), current read, installation read (if known) number of dials, meter location, MPR & MPAN if you have them, if the meter is Prepayment, credit, economy 7 etc. Even the type of meter (eg schlumberger) is helpful.
I mean I have been trying to sort this since before Christmas, and I really thought it would all be over now.
I've got plenty on my plate at the moment without all of this!Dream of being mortgage free....

Hi,
I posted this on another thread a while ago, but I'm posting it again in case it helps anyone.
We transferred to PowerGen last year and the messed up every at stage beyond belief. In the end we gave up and went back to British Gas. Before we left them, however, I managed to find one guy at Powergen who knew what he was talking about and had the authority to sort his colleagues' messes out. Try calling Guy Legg on 0115 906 2802 (assuming he still works there and hasn't gone into hiding from all the MSEers' calls!).
Good luck!0 -

I know how you feel as we are with Powergen and we were paying £12 a month for about 6 months without knowing and they never told us about it so we ended up owing them over £100. I phoned up their helpline and told the poor kid on the phone that I was not impressed with their methods and would appreciate being informed of any short comings in future. We have also just got a card through the door to put down the meter readings so that they can't go on estimates. Phone them and don't take no for an answer.0
