Doesn't stop the cancel button working though, which spits out your card - who would leave a machine without at least mashing the keypad to see if it returned the card?

    Obvious urban myth

Never say obvious, if I had a tenner for everyone who said that I would not ever have to work again!!!

The cancel button would work, but not all ATM users are quite that good! Personally the story is a mix of truth & myth but also an idea which would possibly work. Like I said earlier I have never come across this type of scam, but it sounds very viable to me. Truth be told, is any ATM totally 100% safe? No, of course not, but you just try and reduce the risks
These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!
