Selling On Ebay International Sites?

Any advise, currently listing items on UK and a few on .com but ideally want to list on the Ebay German site...

I had a go last night and looking to list 10 of an item on a BIN at €44.95 with €12.50 postage but there wanting €4.80 to list......

My German is not great but anyone else had simialr expreience?

I was informed if you want to get into European market ebay.de is the one to use, with more business than UK site?

Any help and advise appreciated

Living on the continent, I use ebay.de quite a lot and I've noticed that there's quite a few listings on there in both Deutsch and English, and I've even spotted the odd one solely in English. You'd obviously need some command of German to do the set up, although pages, layout and buttons are exactly the same on both sites, as I do have UK account too.

Can't comment on the amount of business but I think the quality in Germany is better. In all my over 100 transactions on there (mostly selling), I've only ever one issue and that was last month, some newbie who won 6 DVDs I'd listed and despite paying for all the other DVDs she was buying at the time, didn't pay for mine. When I sold quite an expensive camera last year, we opted to do it via .de, partly because the language tends to exclude Nigerian scammers and other timewasters.

You'll find that most people don't use Paypal, bank transfers are very normal, standard and easy to do online these days so this. You might want to consider setting up a bank account for euros so your buyers can transfer cash to that account with no charges for doing so (as you incur charges for doing euros into pounds)
