Bmw mini drivers read this

A lot of cars with electric power steering suffer with failure of the pump. If you think you are going to get BMW to recall everyone and replace the pump then i suggest you get yourself up to the Comedy Store as you are quite literally having a laugh.

Who says it costs a lot to fix? maybe if you go to bmw but if you are a proper MSE then you do research and find a company called BBA-Reman who will supply a fully reconditioned power steering pump for £190 with 2 years warranty or there are companies on Ebay who supply brand new ones for less than £300

Does anyone know if you are covered if you extend ur warranty past the 3 year mark...so far I have a steering rack change new runners on passenger seat new boot retaining strap new engine mount (I think) the roof came off the runners and surprise I have extended the warranty cos any one of these jobs would cost a fortune....i love the car to bits..bought it 2nd hand on a 55 plate from big nw dealer as a cherished mini. 2 weeks after i had it the run flat indicator came on and someone had managed to get an inner tube in the tyre so i drove it at a reduced speed not realising this...the dealers have been good..they paid for the cost of a new run flat but when i look at it there have been a few thing since I bought it and it has been fully mini serviced.....I have just baulked at changing the coolant and brake fluid at 50 odd quid plus vat a pop...this if needed will be done at a local garage.
