    Wow
how soon should I be looking for help in the kitchen form DS#1 (6) & DS#2 (2)?
DS#2 is always in the kitchen pointing out the hot things.
DS#1 is like a 'kevin' and "doesn't do cookin'", although I got him to help make flapjack (his favourite) the other week, and he's always up for licking the bowl!
just in case you need to know:

Mine are 15 and 13 fanny so try earlier than me!

They have 'made' themselve s a sandwhich for years as well as cereal. Younger 1 has always enjoyed stirring the sauces or browning meat, its a nice time to chat to just him too. Elder 1 has always talked his brother into making all snacks and drinks for him, don't know how he did it tbh!
The curry was a huge success btw but they have confessed his mate had done the chopping and my son had only done the stirring! See old habits......... but they have enjoyed shopping and preparing the meal so its a start. I have asked whats on the menu next time, strike while the irons hot. (Which incidently he does enjoy doing!)

My kids all joke that they learnt to cook by phone.
I was running my own business & worked in a small unit about a mile from home. When the kids got in they would phone to let me know they were home & then say 'Whats for dinner Mum'
I'd talk them through the meal 1 step at a time & they'd phone & say 'Done that, what next?' All 4 of them can now cook practically anything, & on my birthday & Mothers day, we get together for a meal & they all bring a course each.
