An increase of IB for kids can still be in payment for those getting it before April 2003 and still meeting the conditions -it's called 'Transitional Protection'.0

I could if I wanted, the DSS sent me a letter saying I could claim child tax credits and the dependant child increase would be removed from my OH's incapacity benefit. We decided to just leave it as it is, we wouldn't be better off we would get exactly the same amount of money it would just come from 2 different places. It seemed daft to claim tax credits just to have it removed off another benefit and knowing our luck something would go wrong with the claim and probably take months to sort out. :rolleyes:Why don't you have child tax credits?Dum Spiro Spero0 -

That information is incorrect you can have the Incapacity Benefit child increases AND the child tax credit for the same children at the same time.
If they do now come back and say you have been overpaid, you can say you would have had the same amount from CTC anyways.0
