Can you Reclaim previously settled Bank& Creditcard charges from Debt Recovery Agents

I was a student and had a bank accounts with Royal Bank of Scotland from 1998 till 2003 till when i settled all the arrears with Debt Recovery Agents instructed by them.
I had two accounts with them, one current account and one credit card account. From the period of 2002 to 2003 I was away from the country due to unforseen personal circumstances and also let the bank know of my circumstances that i could not make payments till i returned to the UK. They kept on charging me extortionate amounts on both accounts and in the end it was forwarded to Debt recovery agencies. I finally settled all my debt with them in 2003. To reclaim i requested statements from Royal Bank of Scotland but they just do not send me that later statements where they kept of issuing Overdrafts charges and penalty charges to my account instead they just keep on sending me statements of my savings account where there was no much transaction. I have written many times requesting but i dont know what to do now. All in all i have almost paid around £3000 to settle my account with Debt Recovery agency called Triton Credit services in 2003 and this amount was mostly i believe of penalties added to my account. Unfortunately i was away from the UK and i could not access my bank account statements and therefore i do not know what went on my account and what charges were being charged ot my account.
Could you please tell me what is the best way forward for me to recover my money?
Thanks

You are able only togo back 6 years, your just about out of time0

I thought it was 6 years from 2007?
As in I thought that rolling clock had stopped now.
Sorry I am not much further help than that though!0 -

To clarify the 6 year issue
"(14)
the firm must not take into account the period between 27 July 2007 and the date of termination of this direction (the “stay period”) for the purposes of relying on any limitation period (or periods) or time limits within which complainants must:
(a)
make relevant charges complaints;
(b)
refer relevant charges complaints to the Ombudsman; or
(c)
bring claims before the court;
and the firm must not otherwise limit any redress that may be due to the customer, when complying with DISP or otherwise, because of the stay period;"
That is page 6 of the FSA Waiver(on my signature).0
