It depends how early you're planning to get to the airport (read: how panicky you are) and how easily your kids get bored. I personally tend to turn up just an hour before my flights, which means I wouldn't get any benefit from it, but if you've got a wife bugging you to be there four hours before 'just in case' then I'd say it's probably worth paying for. Also depends how many of you there are: £34 for two is reasonable for what you get, but I can't say I'd want to spend £64 for a family of five. And don't forget that even the most hideous kids quite like airports in general as there's generally plenty going on around them and plenty to see out of the terminal windows, and exploring the South terminal can easily take an hour or more.

We travelled childless on that trip - and tbh didnt really pay much attn to the kids facilities, but the kids that were there looked happy enough
