    Just ordered a new dell computer
    Can i take present computer to a shop and get them to test it
    any ideas how much this would cost.

    Probably £50 upwards, why don't you do it yourself? Everything you need is available on the web.. What do you want them to test.. if the HD is full, then you either need to delete something, compress something, or buy a new HD.

    If you think the HD is faulty, then as already suggested, go to the manufacturers website, and download a HD diagnostic program.

    Nothing you have said sofar, suggests a fault to me.

    What PC is it, what brand of HD?
