Halifax reduced my credit limit, I was going to close it after paying it off but for this month I put all my spare cash, hoping to use the credit card in the meantime until pay day. I have been paying minimum for such a long time but I just managed to pay extra few hundred this month, and they reduced it by that much lol. It is going to be hard but I will live, as I said I was not going to be using the card after this month anyway, I just wanted to concentrate on higher debts first.

i did a balance transfer off Halifax with the intention of using it normally after i was paying for cash withdrawals , limit was £1300 , filled card up over the week with buying a car, thought i had 50 left filled up with petrol and card didn't work, called halifax and limit was cut by £50 in line with responsible lending review on my account as they felt it was more affordable, as if the 25% apr wouldn't make it bad regardless of the limit. Can't wait to close my One account Halifax have been appalling and put my interest up from 12% to 25% one month .Had my card expire, was told one was sent 2 months previous but not arrived, cancelled it by phone asked for it to be re-sent, still nothing so called again and the 1st one sent 2 months earlier still wasn't cancelled and the other one re-ordered even the guy on the phone said it was incompetent so yes i wouldn't plan or rely on buying a pint of milk with Halifax.0

This are signs of trouble. However HBOS style appears to be inconsistent as i know some who have had their limits increased despite not using pre-existing limit that much0
