PPi on property?

Hi
About 5 years ago we had a mortgage and were forced to sell due to threats of reposession (for a measly £1,000 arrears!).
We were both self employed at the time so it could have been mis-sold (I know the advisor had to pull a few strings to get us a deal but he was desparate for his comission I think!)
I just wondered if we would have had PPi on the mortgage repayments or is this a stupid thought?
On another thought just entered my head, after losing our house we moved into a static caravan and paid anual 'site fees' , which were extortionate, plus gas & electricity charges every 6 months. I know we wouldnt have had PPi on these things obviously but I did wonder if there could be any money I could try and claim back?
Thanks for any advice.

Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.

Hi there
So sorry to hear this.
So did you actually have PPI on the mortgage?
If you were mis sold this then try reclaiming on this, it does not matter if you have the mortgage now or not, check this link below for more info and reclaim templates, write in your own reasons:

I am not too sure on the caravan site fees, maybe someone will clarify this for you, good luck and post up for help anytime.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi
Thanks for the help, how would I find out if I had PPi or any other reclaimables on the mortgage we had?
With a bit of luck we will have something somewhere.

I would ask for a copy of the policy, ask if they are able to let you know and send any evidental documents, if they don't send these for nothing ask them what they charge, the only other way is to request a SAR, but there is a charge for this, template here, check this out with the details:
This template can be used for any finance, just delete what is not appropriate.

Hi
Its an expired mortgage was about 5 years ago so not even sure its still held on file somewhere. It was with Bank of Scotland I think.
We had a mortgage (our first) previous to that at another property with Northern Rock while I look back
Then again whilst I am on the subject what about claiming for Estate Agent Fees? Is that possible?
Well if the MP's have done it! :rotfl:

Hi there
I would send a SAR then, they should still hold the information even on closed accounts for 5-6 years Max.
This may be useful to help your case, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Mortgage payment protection insurance (MPPI) covers self employed.
Unlike PPI, most MPPI sales are sold by regulated individuals under advice. This means they document your financial position and needs and make a recommendation. You then choose whether to buy or not. If you had a financial need and qualified for cover then your chances of success in trying to claim a refund are virtually zero. if you had no financial need or the product was not suitable then your complaint would be considered.
This is why most MPPI complaints are rejected. Then again whilst I am on the subject what about claiming for Estate Agent Fees? Is that possible?
Of course not.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
