                    Im trying to assess what rent levels are for so-called "welfare housing"
We have a 2 bedroom flat, owned by a HA (which is owned by the council)
Rent £77 a week (4 weeks rent free)
Council tax £990 a year
if you rent off a HA/Council can you post your rent/rates?
I think the rents are way too high for "welfare" rents, some OAP bungalows ar £95 a week!

            We rent a 2bed council house £95pw. With £1200pa council tax. NO rent-free weeks offered with this council anymore. And a private rent in this area of the same house would be nearer £180pw.
 MIL rents a 3bed council house at £75pw...... (But hers is in a crap area of the same town, but that crap area is only a 10minute walk away). AND she has had a new kitchen fitted recently.0

            don't know welfare housing but LHA for me is:
 Shared = £122 a week
 1 bed = £240 a week
 haven't looked at anything bigger. These are the allowances not the actual rent0

            1 bedroom flat owned by Gloucester city homes is £57.00 per week with 1 free week per year. For a 3 Bedroom it's about £90.00.0

            Im seeing rents for HA/LHA that arent far short of private lets, which shouldnt be the case for welfare housing, unless the theory is that tenants should all be claiming HB....0

            Eklynne, yes 2 adults working should be able to afford that. But my DW stays at home with the children and I work shift work, luckily with overtime and antisocial hours pay I earn quite a bit, though the OR has his cut.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
