quick question-ebay and warrantied items?

I am looking to buy some bathroom stuff-shower and taps. If I buy from ebay can I just directly contact the manufacturer if there is a problem with the item? Either from new or during the warranty period? I would be thinking of buying now, but bathroom probably not being fitted until mid-late june, is it 6 weeks for disputes on ebay?
Thanks

You have 45 days in which to open a paypal claim on ebay. Technically a trader selling new goods as an agent of the manufacturer should be passing on any usual warranty, in practice you might struggle to enforce that in a dispute.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ok, does that mean that if something went wrong I can't go to the company itself? Am a bit worried ebay trader may be gone in 2 years if something goes wrong with them then-am looking at thermostatic shower with 5year warranty and taps with 10 year-does buying from ebay invalidate that guarantee?0

You will really need tarder who can at least providea proper invoice, or at least the original invoice. I would be careful if I were you.
I bought a Mira shower which died within the 2 year warranty period asked seller for help and they never replied, thankfully I managed to get the repair guy onside and he accepted that it was warranty work otherwise the bill would have been £65 + parts. I only saved about £50 on the unit so I think I was very lucky.
If it was me I would be deciding on the likelyhood of a claim. Taps probably safer than the shower. Be cautious.0 -
Ah ok, thanks, I can get the stuff, not that much more expensive from an online retailer (plumbworld-anyone any experiences?) so maybe should do that instead0
