Computer wont let me uninstall programs

Hi all.I'm trying to uninstall a couple of programs that i downloaded today but dont want anymore. But when I try it comes up with a message saying 'The system administrator prevents you from doing this'.Followed by 'Please contact the system administrator on what to do'.Or something to that effect anyway.

I'm the only one who uses this computer and I'm wired up to our router. Can anyone advise me on what to do.Thanks.Josh

Try start, search, control.exe, right click, run as administrator

Mmm, when you say 'search' do you mean click on 'run'?If so that just brings the window up of the control panel in a classic view

Search or run, but right click and run as admin.

Do you get an uac elevation prompt when you go into control panel?

Ah.No when I go into add/remove programs it doesnt come up with that.Nor when It refuses me to uninstall something.Just says that administrator policies prevents me from uninstalling.Even though I'm the administrator!

    What are the applications?

You could try turning uac off temporarily, in control panel, user accounts.

I'm not even sure what they are. There are 3 applications which wont uninstall and I think they are all setup programs.
