I see Nationwide have a 1 Year Bond paying 5.2%,C&G
paying 5.25%,would I be better waiting `til after next
weeks meeting of the BOE in case interest rates go up
again,or should I invest now?!

That's no flaw. It's compensation for the loss of our youth.I have five stars! This doesn't mean that I know anything about any of the things I post. I could be a raving lunatic, or a brilliant genius, or just some guy on the internet. In fact, I could be all three at the same time.
If anything I say makes sense, then do it. If not, don't. Don't blame me or my stars if you do something stupid because I suggested it. I'm responsible for my own stupidity only. You are responsible for yours.
Why, I don't even have five stars anymore! Aren't you glad you aren't responsible for my stupidity?0 -
Just so the OP knows, Birmingham Midshires has a better 1 year bond rate. 5.61% I think, but do check.

Egg has one at 5.35% but you must open before 31 August and minimum is £1000.0

Tom,
I didn;t answer your question. I would put the money in an instant access account and wait until providers have responded to today's hike in interest rates. The nationwide usually respond with an uplift in their bond rates. Not saying it will be the full 0.25% though.0 -
