Please excuse me if I've put this in the wrong section, but its a technical/shop type thread...

Has anyone purchased from the outlet section on the Dell site.

Im not very techie minded, so could do with a few pointers as I want to buy a laptop, max £450.

Thanks.

site all above board ,some ps's made up to order and cancelled ,look for one you like and compare on norman dell site to see if good value.
normal dell site has usually good offers at times ,plus you can pick spec's and see final price, if you do cancell the pick up if faulty [£50 ish] increase memory and hard drive size , you can score with offers ,I did for a inspiron530 16 month ago [I think] no problems, if you want a decient machine that worksand not a machine to mod. they are ok for price...look for offer with free delivery ,that is a rip off ,all best zee

Dell Outet is fine, but bear in mind that all the stock is pre-built, so you can't reconfigure the specs like you can on the normal Dell site. The turnover is fast, so you neeed to be prepared to move quickly if you see one you like, I think you can reserve one for no longer than 15 minutes. The savings are not huge, maybe 8-10% over the main site.
    Warranty terms are the same.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Just remember that the price you see when listing your choices is excluding VAT. The VAT is added once you add the item to the shopping basket.

Also be aware that the items may be sourced from Europe, not just the UK, though don't let that sway you against buying.

I bought my sons laptop from the Outlet store last October and it's been a good machine.

I am now the proud owner of a fabtastic machine.

And on the site there was a £55 off voucher too!
