Help, cat injured (not UK)

Friend in India - her cat just fell out of a tree
His tail is at a bad angle, he's limping and he has a cut. She's been to a vet but he's basically given her saline - she's waiting for the good vet to open.
Cat is crying and looking very sad... she's asking me what she can do to help before she can get him to the vet. I know she can't give him human painkillers.
Any ideas?

I don't think there is much she can do other than keep him warm, which I guess it is in India anyway?, and finding him somewhere sheltered he can settle and rest - a soft cushion or something for comfort -I would also say is probably best not to give him anything to eat or drink in case he needs a GA. How long till the vets opens?0

Think she has about 8 hours to wait

oh dear - I assume the first vet had a look at the cats gums ad stuff and isnt concerned there is any life threatening injury/internal bleeding etc?
If thats the case then I really dont know what to suggest, other than to wait and try and keep him comfortable - maybe someone will come along with some more ideas soon.... if it's that long she may be ok giving him a little food and water now, but not later... I guess its not so easy to get hold of an emergncy vet as it is here?0 -
They went to the government vet but the private one is the good one apparently, sounds like they don't have any emergency facilities.
I guess the injuries aren't life threatening, but she's very upset about the poor thing obviously being in pain.My TV is broken!

Cat is on the mend

Apparently in India the fireman strategy for a cat stuck in a tree is to poke it with sticks until it falls.... (in this case, a long way!)My TV is broken!
