Hi,
My partner purchased a digital camera online 2 days ago for use on our Honeymoon next week. (our current one has just broken).
It was £239.00 in total from 'Bitesizedeals.co.uk'.
It was only AFTER the purhase that we noticed the website looked a bit 'fishy'. There was no 'Contact Us' section, so no telephone number, address or email, and the online help never works!
We then searched for reviews on the internet and are horrified to read that they are a USA based company who either take your money and send you nothing, or send you a faulty USA spec camera which is useless anyway!!!
My Fiance called Abbey, his credit card company and they have said they cannot help as he authorised the transaction!!????? well of course he did.........IN GOOD FAITH!
We have since called Consumer Direct who say that the credit card company are equally liable for the purchase and should refund. We are SO confused!
Can anyone shed some light?
We tried calling abbey back and were told we need to speak to the 'Dispute Team' but they only work until 5pm!
As bitesizedeals are a USA company, do we still have rights under section 75? (cant believe they fool you into thinking they are UK based!)
We are so tired and stressed and dont need this the week before the wedding :-(

You probably already know this, but there is a long thread on here about bite size deals (I haven't read it) but you may want to read .

MSE have asked users not to post any more comments. So its likely your post will be removed,or could you delete it0 -
Right take a deep breath, breathe out and read on.....
......the way I see it is that if the camera doesn't show up then I guess you are covered because you paid by credit card. I'm not sure why a US spec camera would be useless though - but I am a technophobe!
I guess the issue here is that at the moment there really isn't a dispute as such - you've just realised that you have bought something off a site that on seconds thoughts you wouldn't have done had you known its origin etc.
To me you have two options:
a) wait to see if a camera turns up and if it doesn't you may have to make a dash to Argos (or somewhere similar) and get a camera from there - and then your case for claiming off Abbey is much stronger
b)If the camera turns up - use it (again I don't know what the difference is with the US spec)
c)Buy a camera from Argos (or somewhere similar) tomorrrow and then a) & b) is just another thing to deal with after the honeymoon.2014 Target;

If you remove the references to the company you have a dispute with (by editing your post) then MSE will not delete the thread and you will be able to receive advice.
Could you forward details of your problems with this to [Removed] as they have received letters from this company insisting they remove the previous thread as it was not accurate. However MSE have requested MSE members send details of their dealings in as if the posts where accurate they will post the original thread back up and tell the company to in effect "Sue and be damned"0 -
The company mentioned above 'Bite S D' is a complete scam. I can't believe that 'B Size D' have sent a letter insisting the negative threads are removed. The negative threads are completely accurate. I have been ripped off by this company (B S Deals) and have met others on a similar website forum that have also been ripped off by them. I urge everyone who has had a bad experience with this company (which will be everyone who has ordered through them) then email investigation@moneysavingexpert.com and give the details. They are trying to get all they can on this scam company.0

Your card company can help.
They need to allow either 30 days from the transaction date or if you have not recieved the item by the expected delivery date if this is sooner they can step in and chargeback the payment as goods not received.
Just cause there is stuff online about people having issues with them does not mean to say you will have a problem with your payment, your jumping the gun a little.
At end of the day the bank can help if dont get your item or if they send you a different one to that which is described on their website.0
