Cheap Brita water filters

Is there anywhere that I can get Cheaper BRITA water filter cartridges?
Are the cheaper alternatives any good?
Is it worthwhile getting a filter connected to the main supply?
Any help would be appreciated.

I have tried using the cheaper alternatives but imo they don't last anywhere near as long as the Brita filters do so false economy.
We bought a new filter jug which had 13 filters ( a years supply and one in the jug already) in with it from Robert Dyas if thats any help.

boots has 500 points on brita filters in advantage card machine - i found out after buying some without trying it that u can use it with cardridges too. pah! for me but may help u!Cleaning the house while children are growing is like shovelling snow when it's still snowing!0
