After reading other peoples problems when trying to get back bank charges, i reluctantly thought i would have a go.it was only a small amount to some people( £157.00 ) but as i am on incapacity benefit that is a huge amount.
They got my first letter on the 18th April 2009, sent me the financial hardship letter to fill in.
I then got a letter saying they were not going to refund anything due to the account in question hadnt been credited or debited since last august.
I had re-directed my benefits to my partners account in dispute of the charges.
I then spoke to an advisor friday 24th . the advisor said she would speak to her manager and her manager would call me back on mon morning 27th may 2009.
I waited until 12pm then called them, the advisor who i spoke to said there was no record of me calling on the friday. so i demanded to speak to a manager. she put me through to a manager of another dept who couldnt help at all, but promised the manager of the Refund of Charges team would call me on tues 5th may 2009.
After expressing my anger about the previous advisor and my situation she said i would receive a letter in the post by friday 8th May 2009.
I received the letter this morning saying they have reconsidered my financial hardship request and they have refunded the full £157
