internet connection problem

Had a problem getting onto the internet this last week, yesterday i did a system restore & got back on. Today i had the same problem did another restore & got back on the int. What i have found out is that my ip address is/has changed/changing on its own.
Can anyone tell me why & how i stop it happenning again?

ip addresses usually change (dynamic) unless you pay your ISP to have a static IP address - usually only used if you are hosting a serverDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0

if you have zone alarm,try changing to the windows firewall and see if it still happens. Mine was doing the same thing. I had to update my windows and install a newer zone alarm version but you could just as easily install a different firewall altogether.0
