Birds Eye Steam Fresh OS Alternative

Ok this is my first delve into the world of OS so please be gentle ;)

As someone who works a part time job (as well as uni) i find myself eating my tea at work (where we only have a microwave). I WAS eating those microwave meals that you get from ASDA (the rubbish 98p ones), but last time I went they had those Steam fresh ones for BOGOF (£1.99 usually). The vegetables in them tasted surprisingly like real vegetables for a microwave meal- I had one with REAL brocoli and carrots- I was most impressed. Now, obviously £1.99 is a bit pricey so, is there any way I can make my own frozen meals to take to work ? Can I freeze veg and then cook it in a microwave? The meal i had also had a chicken breast in it- granted, it wasnt the best- but I didn't know you could cook chicken in a microwave?

So, does anyone have any DIY frozen meal recipes?

Ok - your best option would be to cook extra portions of meals you like and then freeze the extras in portion sizes.

Then you can take them to work and defrost and reheat in the microwave.

Stews, soups and casseroles of all kinds work well and for other ideas you could browse threads listed in the Cooking section of the MEGA Index sticky at the top of Old Style.

Look at items listed under "Lunch" for meal ideas, and then there's all sorts of threads listed under "Freezing" that will give you help with the various ingredients you might have chosen.
