if you put the listing number into a search on ebay then look at sellers other items and then go into completed listings it shows the same items coming up for repeat auctions-even if they have sold. So if they have sold either the seller has alot of the same items or is very unlucky with buyers reneging on their contract or they have a mate who bids the item up and then wins the item-so the seller relists

Just looked, yep, you're right. A def case of shill bidding, also no f/bk left for items the 'shill bidder' has won. No bids currently on items listed. Can you only report them when there are active listings? or can you do it on items ended aswell?

I should think you could report it even if there not selling,as then it would flag up.

For anyone that is interested, a detailed case study of shill bidding on eBay, and a comment on eBay’s apparent attitude thereto, can be found at ... (sorry, can't post link)

If you know their eBay id you can put it in Goofbay to see what they have won and also the sellers. It even shows private auctions.

Trouble is with eBay's (disingenuous) introduction, across the board, of "hidden bidders" you cannot know the the ID of any bidders, and only the winning bidder if you are prepared to wait and look for the item in the sellers feedback; of course if the seller's shill is the winner there probably won't be any feedback.

It's all explained at Google search "auctionbytes Shill Bidding on eBay: A Case Study"
