Are banks closing accounts for reclaiming?

I intend to reclaim the £3k+ that NatWest owe me but I haven't got a back-up account in case they shut me down; question is can they do this (and if they can, will they)?
(A second question which is unrelated to the topic title - what is the turnaround on bank claims these days when no hardship is involved?)

second question first.
There is no turnaround until a judgement has been made final in the test case - ie the outcome of the appeal in the house of lords.
As for closing your account - several banks have been fined for this, I believe it also states in the waiver for the test case they cant do this. Doesnt mean to say the wont though. Sorry its a bit vague, but in honestly, you probably wont know until you try, so may be an idea to have a back up account in case.No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

They cannot close your account because you are reclaiming bank charges.I intend to reclaim the £3k+ that NatWest owe me but I haven't got a back-up account in case they shut me down; question is can they do this (and if they can, will they)?

Bank charges cases can have a turnaround which can mean that it is on hold so some people have been waiting since 2007.0 -
There's another test case! So putting a claim in now would just be entering yourself into a queue, yes?
Could be a nice little bonus in 2015.0 -
It won't take that long, I hope., lol. The OFT test case has been ongoing since 2007 when it was announced. Have you got any priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities)? If not then still claim but it will be on hold until the conclusion of the OFT test case issues. There's another test case! So putting a claim in now would just be entering yourself into a queue, yes?
