where to complain for the food below standard..????

Hi,
Recently I bought one item from asian food store and when I opened the pack, it had got small back insects and white worms in there.

So by reading on pack I dropped them an email...and there was no response from them. So I called them up, when the person told me to post the pack and assured me to refund the postage cost and so I posted it with recorded delivery.

Now they are not responding to any of my emails.

Any ideas where can I complain about it to take the further action...???

Any help is much appreciated.

best report t local environmental health office. better to keep any 'evidence', rather than give it back to shop so they could destry / deny it ever happened,

also alert the manufacturer, if details known? maybe a duff batch..

By sending the packet back, you have destroyed the evidence, so short of going back and buying another packet and hoping for the same bugs, I'm not sure there's much you can do now!

They asked me to send one for their further investigation. I think I did a mistake....so is there any way out of this...???/

Probably not unless you do as Pink Shoes has suggested and go back for another pack.

You could always contact the Environmental Health Department for the area that the shop you bought the food from. Let them know the problem and they might investigate it for you - but seeing as you don't have any evidence now, they might just file your complaint on the premises record.
