Job Hunting Winge

Hi
I've just come home from a morning job hunting. I feel old and useless(I'm 47). I have left my CV with a job agency (who was actually very nice but said sorry but unless you were in the sort of job where thay can't do without you there wasn't much going) I also left my CV with various shops, resturants and the local cinema. The one vacancy that was there was for 8 hours (what earthly use is 8 hours)
I've worked all my life (until our business went belly up last summer) but it is quite scary that I don't seem to be trained for anything. And everyone seems so young ( I know employers aren't allowed to be ageist) so why would they want me.
I think this is probably more me having a mid life crisis actually and I was polite and confident while I was jobhunting so its probably not that bad.
Thanks for listening, I feel so much better now I've had a winge.

As a mom you have Time management skills, multi-tasking skills, cullinary skills, people management skills etc etc. You are 47 I am 43 and I'm still 18 in my head (anyone who says different, I will slam the door run upstairs and lock myself in my bedroom OK!!!!!!!). Despite what my sig says!!!

Maybe you should aim higher in your job hunting?

I've submitted my CV to about a dozen different agencies, including some big multi-nationals and some small local ones. My experience is that some contact you on a regular basis with job opportunities or for an update on your situation whilst some never contact you at all. My advice would therefore be to send your CV to as many agencies as you can find in the hope of finding a couple of good ones.
