charity needs a new boiler
I have just taken on the role of treasurer for a pre-school which is a registered charity. We have a very aging boiler at the school that is generating huge bills each month. As a charity does anyone know if any energy companies would offer a special deal on the installation or maintenance of a boiler? I have asked the question of British Gas and will do for some other energy companies but wondered if anyone on here had an info/advice?
I can offer no resistance, I can offer no respite
Wake me when conflict is over,
I aim for a peaceful life,
Wake me up when the fury is ended
I like living a peaceful life

Presumably you own the building? It would be wise to also ensure that insulation etc is up to scratch as it may not be entirely the boiler's fault that the bills are very large.
If gasbag's suggestion doesn't work out, it could be worth contacting a few local companies to see if anyone will give you a good deal in return for some publicity in the local paper! Also do check whether any of your parents work for companies it would be worth approaching!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Our local council has just released four funding streams for different things - one would cover the cost of a new boiler and its running costs. Does your council have anything similar?
You could also try your local branch of CVS (Council for Voluntary Service) as they often have a funding officer who can advise you of any funding available - and help you fill in the forms.
A new boiler is capital funding - it is part of the building, not running costs. There are several charities and trusts who might help. Your town library should have a funding information point in the reference section, which will give you details of funders that you could approach.
A good website to try is grantsnet (I can't post links as I'm a newbie, but it is dot co dot uk). You can sign up for free email alerts. I use it for our community centre and for my Brownie unit - both charities.
Good luck x0
