Emirates have increased thier baggage allowance

Just to spread the word. Emirates have increased thier checked baggage allowance to 30kgs for Economy passengers, 40kgs for Business and 50kgs for First Class. It appears that the charge per kilo for excess baggage has also been reduced from £35 to £25 per kilo.

On thier website it says that this is effective on all flights from 4th May.

Maybe with the extra allowance they will be more strict about charging for even small amounts if you go over, but at least now you don't have to panic if you are a few kilos over the (previous) 20kg limit.

Sensible policy, am booking my honeymoon flights with them to Thailand. 40Kgs each will do nicely.

A good policy, I would expect it to lead to a more stringent over-charge policy. Be aware when turning up with persian rugs

The last time I flew with Emirates, they didn't even blink when I presented my 35 kg suitcase.

They are often in front when it comes to technology/policy.

Good policy, that will make them popular - I think they're one of the best airlines anyway!
